Compare your overnight bases.

Driving ranges are editorial estimates, before traffic, queues and stops.

Port Angeles

30–60 min to Lake Crescent or Hurricane Ridge

Best for the first two north-side days.

Tradeoff: Hoh is roughly two hours away each way.

Forks

45–65 min to the Hoh visitor area

A useful west-side base.

Tradeoff: Changing bases adds an evening transfer; distant from Hurricane Ridge.

Watch for a campsite cancellation.

Recreation.gov offers availability alerts for matching campsites. Set one through the campground’s booking page and keep an alternative ready; an alert does not hold a site.
